Satin from Beauty Pillow
We have selected high quality satin for our pillowcases. It is 100% polyester and has no washable coating. Stains are easily removed and the Beauty Pillow can be washed up to 40⁰C (100⁰F). The white Beauty Pillow, which we recommend for severe acne, can be washed up to 60⁰C (140⁰F). The pillowcase is dryer-safe and won’t shrink. The fine structure of the tightly woven satin ensures that moisture is retained in the skin and hair and not absorbed, as it is in cotton. This reduces the dry, tight feeling in your face the following morning. The satin also regulates sebum production and provides a polishing effect that eliminates skin abrasions and ensures that the hair can move freely. The result is smooth skin and shiny hair without tangles or frizz. Also, personal care products are not absorbed by the satin and remain on the skin or hair, a beautiful, blow-dried hairstyle keeps its form longer, hairpieces and extensions stay in place, hair is less likely to get greasy, sleep wrinkles don’t stand a chance, wrinkles fade, pimples and acne decrease and irritated skin is soothed.
Many people think that 100% polyester satin makes you sweat. Nothing could be further from the truth. It keeps you cool while you sleep. Women who suffer from nocturnal hot flashes have benefited from the Beauty Pillow. Men also tell us that they sleep well with the Beauty Pillow and don’t suffer from clammy skin or sleep wrinkles. Even children that are allergic to dust mites or pollen have benefited from the Beauty Pillow. Satin has been proven to be hypoallergenic. Dust mites and pollen cannot settle because of the fine weave, in contrast to, for example, cotton.
Satin is the name of the weave. It is a tightly woven fabric with a smooth, shiny surface. The underside often looks like a plain weave as the threads in the fabric cross each other. Satin is made from cotton, polyester, rayon, silk or a mixture of these. The high quality satin from Beauty Pillow is of an entirely different quality than for example, crape satin that gives a dry feeling, or duchess satin, that is a stiff, tightly-woven satin. There is also a big difference between our satin and elastic satin, which is satin with spandex, or print satin that can be made of silk or a mixture of polyester and silk. Cotton satin is often used for bedding. The cotton has an absorbing effect and the satin creates the shine. There are also satin pillowcases in circulation in which a coating has been applied. This coating is not washable and the fabric remaining after washing no longer has the properties of satin.
Silk is a natural product and the satin in the Beauty Pillow is made from 100% polyester. In essence it has the same effect on skin and hair. Both provide radiant skin and shiny hair. However, silk is not animal friendly. The silkworm is killed after spinning its cocoon to prevent the hatching butterfly from damaging the cocoon and breaking the silk thread. The fact is that silk is very expensive and wears easily. Seams unravel through movement of the head on the pillowcase and over time thin spots appear in the fabric. Stains in silk are difficult to remove and a special laundry detergent is necessary to clean it. We wanted to avoid these problems with the Beauty Pillow. Our dream is that everyone has the opportunity to “sleep beautifully” without fuss and without a high price tag. Beauty Pillow gives that extra touch to every bedroom.

Our grandmothers recommended it; sleeping on a satin or silk pillowcase is a boon for skin and hair. The advantage of a satin pillowcase over a silk pillowcase is that satin is wear-resistant and easier to maintain. Stains are easily removed and satin is dryer-safe.
